Kamiel Benedetto Platteborze
Kamiel Benedetto Platteborze, age 70 of Lexington, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at her home in Lexington. She was born November 27, 1951, in Sharon, PA, a daughter of the late Domenic and Angela Fustos Benedetto. A retired accounting clerk with Beltram Foodservice, Kamiel enjoyed playing the piano as well as baking and creating new delights in the kitchen. She had a fondness for horses, especially Secretariat and was a devoted "Trekkie" and an early on Disney World fan. She adored her family and wanted to spend every moment she could with them, but most of all she cherished her relationship with God. Her passion and faith were immeasurable, she enjoyed any opportunity to worship Him. Her favorite shape was a heart and she liked anything divisible by the number three. Graduated in 1969 from Sharpsville High School as the captain of the girls' basketball team, she would tell everyone the story of when she made the 3-pointer that won them the championship. She was a member in Up With People in the late 60's and loved to sing and be the chorographer of many of their songs. Kamiel is survived by her daughter, Jillian (Nicholas) Mora of Nicholasville, KY; a brother, Mark (Tanya) Benedetto of Sharon, PA; a sister, Deborah Benedetto; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: a brother, Dennis Benedetto; and a sister, Kristina Quattlander. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to donate in her memory, please send donations to Old Friends Farm at https://www.oldfriendsequine.org/how-to-help.html No services are planned. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Rd. in Lexington, KY is in care of final arrangement details.
