CONYERS, Sarah Jane, 82, widow of Sherman E. Conyers, died Sat. April 28, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center. Born Aug. 25, 1929 in Stanton, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Amanda Caroline Hatton Rogers. Mrs. Conyers was the owner and operator of a laundromat as well as several properties and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Conyers (Bill Schutters) and Joyce Ann (Bill) Barnes; sons, Ronnie (Estelita) Conyers and William (Libby) Kissick, Jr. both of Lexington; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and one brother, Oscar (Clota) Rogers, Stanton, KY. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Mike Garrett; and by remaining siblings. Funeral services will be 12:30 pm Fri. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Pastor Earl Thomas and Pastor Ron Harpe. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Thurs. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, KY 40504.
