Amos Riggs
Funeral Time: Friday, October 1st at 11:00AM
Amos Radford Riggs, 79, husband of Margaret Riggs, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Irvine, KY, he was a son of the late Henry and Della Riggs. He was a graduate of the University of Southern California College of Aeronautics and was retired from Kentucky Utilities. He served four years in the Air Force with 3 years in Chaumont, France. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, he loved fishing and stockcar racing, and he loved his two grandsons. Survivors other than his wife are two sons, Todd Riggs and Kirby (Barbara) Riggs; two grandsons, Wesley and Rodney Riggs; one sister, Naomi Leach; special friend and brother-in-law, Marvin Trimble; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 811 Bryan Avenue, Lexington, KY 40505.
