Kocan, Keith Jon, 38, of Odessa, FL, passed away peacefully on Tues., April 25, 2006.
With more than 15 years of proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force, Major Keith Kocan relocated to the area in January of 2005. He was currently acting as the Executive Officer with SOCOM, Special Operations Command, at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from the University of Kentucky where he was the Team Captain and President of the KY Cool Cats Hockey Club. Most of his youth was spent in Amherst, NY and Villa Hills, KY. He enjoyed spending time with his kids, hockey, golf, racquetball, skiing, traveling and working in the yard. Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Carissa (daughter of Doug and Bonnie Stinnett of Lexington, KY); two sons, Bryan Bauer and Cameron Kocan; a daughter, Lauren Kocan; his beloved parents, Jack and Helen Kocan of Villa Hills, KY; a sister, Kathy Aquilino (husband Steve and daughter Jennifer); three brothers, Kristofor Kocan, Klaude Kocan (wife Lori and son Jonah) and Kenneth Kocan; and one granddaughter, Macy. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Monday at Central Christian Church, E Short St. in Lexington by Dr. Michael Mooty and the Rev. Paul Prabel. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. and at 11 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday. Pallbearers will be Kristofor, Klaude and Kenneth Kocan, Steve Aquilino, Steve Stinnett and Bryan Bauer.
