Oscar Daniel Wilds

Oscar Daniel Wilds, 19, of Lexington, KY died unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2023. Daniel was born April 25, 2003, in Retalhuleu, Guatemala to his birth mother who made a sacrifice of love. His parents Daena Wilds and Sandra Duncan loved him from the moment they laid eyes on him and are blessed by the nineteen years they had with him.

Daniel was preceded in death by his grandfather Jim Wilds. In addition to his parents, survivors include his grandmothers Peggy Wilds and Elizabeth Taulbee, grandfather Calvin Duncan, uncles Daniel Wilds and Bill West, aunt Kristin Hornback, and many great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.

Daniel was smart and funny, but his greatest gift was his friendship. He was kind and loyal to both new acquaintances and lifelong friends. These relationships brought joy to Daniel’s life.

Daniel loved all creatures and, from the time he was a little boy, aspired to be a veterinarian. The family asks that if you would like to make a memorial donation, a donation to an animal charity would celebrate Daniel’s passion.

Visitation will be held at Pisgah Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. with a graveside service at 1 p.m. in the church cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

Pallbearers are friends Tyler Rossi, Whitney Page, Peter Marino, Keenan Wilson, Bennet Schrensker, and Parker Herrington.
