James Sallee
Funeral Time: Tuesday, October 11th at 10:00AM
James Thomas Sallee, age 82, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2022 due to open heart surgery complications. He was born on December 26, 1939 in Lexington, Kentucky to Daniel and Beatrice Sallee. He was blessed to have fallen in love and married twice, first to Patricia Sallee who passed in 2020, and then most recently to Doris Fleming Sallee whom he married in August 2021. Jim was a true servant of Christ and always went the extra mile for anyone who needed help. He was a devoted member of Church of the Savior. Jim proudly served in the Army and then became one of Lexington’s finest firefighters, working his way up the ranks to Battalion Fire Chief.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Fleming Sallee and her four children (Gene Fleming, Holly Fleming Land, Rob Fleming, Tim Fleming), son Jeffrey Sallee, daughter and son-in-law Kelly and Doug Baki, sisters Patsy Martin and Betty Haney, grandchildren Matthew Ellington, Christopher Shuman, Zachary Carpenter, John Stiltner, Joshua Stiltner, and Lucas Baki, plus 2 great grandchildren Caleb and Cason Ellington and his many nieces and nephews. In heaven, he will be reunited with his late father and mother Daniel and Beatrice Sallee, his first wife Patricia Sallee, his daughter Deborah Pearson, his brother Donald Sallee, and his two brothers-in-law Wayne Martin and Johnny Haney. All of his family he loved and touched deeply.

Please join us to celebrate his life. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 10th from 5-8 pm at Church of the Savior, 1301 Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 11th at 10 am at Church of the Savior. Burial will follow at 2pm in Winchester Cemetery, Winchester, KY. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Rd is handling the arrangements.
