Mollie Lawson Pratt
Mollie Lawson Pratt, 95, widow of Glenn E. Pratt, died at Baptist Health on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. She was born in Pineville, KY on May 21, 1927 -- the day Charles Lindbergh completed the first nonstop flight across the Atlantic. Mollie was a registered nurse who worked at several hospitals and clinics throughout her career, retiring from the Lexington Clinic. For many years after retirement, she worked as an election official in her neighborhood of Lansdowne Merrick. Outside of work, she was an accomplished quilter, an avid gardener, and a member of the church choir. After she moved from Lamar Drive, Mollie’s final years living at Magnolia Springs Senior Living brought her a new happiness as she found delight in the company of her new friends, the bustle of scheduled activities, and the loving care of the staff, especially Diane, Joekiea, Landon, Meshella, and Rose. Always in a good mood, Mollie was well loved by all who had the joy of knowing her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ewell and Ethel Lawson, her brother Golden Lawson, and sister Tressie Gibson, and by Glenn, her husband of 69 years who died in 2020. She is survived by her daughter Glenda Pratt Survant and son-in-law Greg Survant (Lexington); son Glenn Everett Pratt II (Stamping Ground); grandsons Tyler Survant (New York City) and Ben Survant (Asheville, NC); sister Mabel Lawson Whitaker and brother-in-law Leonard Whitaker (Greer, SC); niece Imogene Jarnagin (Russellville, TN); and a large extended family of nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her devoted friend Pat Blair (Lexington). Private graveside services will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery where she will join her husband Glenn. To honor her love of animals, donations are suggested to the Woodford Humane Society, 265 Thomas Lane, Versailles, KY 40383.
