Mrs. Cora Belle Powell
Cora Bella B. Powell, 93, widow of Omer Powell, passed away Friday, May 20 in Lexington, KY. Born July 28, 1928 in Ashland, KY she was the daughter of the late Horton and Addie Swartz Becraft. Cora was a homemaker who loved her family and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Before moving to Lexington, she was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Ashland, KY and then attended Rosemont Baptist Church for years once she arrived in Lexington. Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Anna Lee (Stephen) Robinson-Fornash; two sons, Donald Robinson and James B. (Cindy) Robinson both of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Nathan Robinson of Lexington, Christy DiMauro of Biloxi, MS, Jason (Brittany) Robinson of Lexington, Jesse (Elizabeth) Robinson of Lexington, Amelia (Byron) Armstrong of Louisville, KY, Clayton (Danielle) Robinson Nicholasville, KY, Megan (Aaron) Reedy of Lexington, Anthony Glenn and Ashley Griffith of Lexington, KY; sixteen great grandchildren; a niece, Rebecca Arnett Van Bibber; a great niece, Megan Van Bibber and a great nephew, Elijah Van Bibber. Along with her parents and Omer Powell she is also preceded in death by her first husband Glenn Robinson, a daughter, Fannie Susan Myers and a sister, Juanita Stephens. A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Powell will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Kerr Brothers-Harrodsburg Rd. The family ask for contributions to be made to the Woodford County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
