Ian Patrick Stoops
Ian Patrick Stoops, 48, of Winchester, Kentucky, passed away on January 17, 2022 surrounded by family. He was born to parents Dennis and Karen Tschopp Stoops, on May 27, 1973 at the Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy. He was a dual citizen of the USA and Italy. Ian graduated from Orange Park High School in 1991. He began his college career at the University of Florida and graduated from the University of West Florida with a BA in History. He graduated Nursing School with an AA in Nursing. Ian passed National Nursing Boards and received his RN license in 2014. He worked as a Registered Nurse for 8 years, and recently accepted a position at the VA in Lexington, KY. Ian lived in Italy, Virginia, Japan, Pennsylvania, California, Florida, South Carolina, New York, and Kentucky. Ian loved to travel. He visited South Korea, the Philippines, throughout the U.S. and Europe. His favorite place was Ireland. Ian enjoyed working on his home, and he was very proud of the projects he completed. He was a family man. Ian loved his wife and children, and his family values stood above all. Ian is survived by his loving wife, Violet Despard Stoops. They were married on June 7, 2018 in Lexington, KY. Together they raised 5 children: Bria, Cayden, Brody, Christian, and Gabriel. He is also survived by his parents Dennis and Karen Tschopp Stoops, brother Sean Stoops, sister Erin Stoops, nephews Liam and Logan Koebel, Uncle Gary and Aunt Sharon Stoops, cousins Michelle Carney, Monica Stoops, Samantha Waggman, and a special friend Adam Cioffi. A memorial will be held at a later date at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Pensacola, Florida.
